Summer is fast approaching, so here is our top ten list to make this summer fit and healthy!
1. Set a goal. It could be running 5k or losing a stone. Then break your goal into smaller pieces, like a weekly workout plan or a weekly weight loss goal. Write down your goals and objectives and post them in a place where you can see them every day as a reminder to continue.
2. Share your goal with friends and family, you could even go a step further and post your goal on Facebook. This will hold you accountable for your actions and you are more likely not to give up.
3. Join a gym class or club. There are many free or community-based gym classes or clubs in your city where like-minded people get together and get in shape. If you mix with people who are trying to achieve the same goal as you, you instantly have a new support network and also make new friends and potential business acquaintances.

4. Plan your meals. You wouldn't go on vacation without knowing where you would be staying, how you would get to your destination, and what type of currency you would need to bring. Good nutritional planning is no different. Plan what you will eat for breakfast, lunch, and tea, then figure out what snacks you will have and bag them all up and take them to work with you. We love to eat nuts that are easy to glue into a food bag and put in your top desk drawer. It will help you stay away from vending machines when you have a sudden craving for food.
5. Drink water, then a little more, a little more! Your body is made up of 70% water, so if you dehydrate it will not work properly and you will start to feel lethargic and exhausted. Take a 1-liter bottle of water to work with you and drink continuously throughout the day.
6. Take fresh air. How many of you suffer from the 3pm power outage? During lunchtime, go outdoors for 20 minutes with fresh air and oxygen. Vitamin D from sunlight will help alleviate the energy drop in the afternoon. Encourage someone from work to join you, so you can catch up on work gossip.
7. Get rid of energetic vampires! If you are surrounded by negative people, they will eventually drain you of energy and make you feel depressed, tired, and negative. Research has shown that you tend to take on the behaviors of the 5 people in your life you spend the most time with, so make sure those people are positive, ambitious, confident, and happy people.

8. Try a new activity. Whether hiking, biking, or Zumba. Do something once a week that takes you out of your comfort zone and challenges your mind and body. If you are aware of trying new things on your own, take a friend with you.
9. Take time to relax. In our busy lives there is very little time to relax and unwind, and looking at the soaps doesn't count! Join a yoga or pilates group, lie on your bed and little music, or read a book. Do something that you enjoy and that is exclusively about you.
10. Get enough sleep. Sleep is one of the most important aspects of a healthy body, without it, the body cannot function properly and begins to feel exhausted. Don't go to bed directly after watching TV, try to go 30 minutes before turning off the TV and going to bed as your brain still processes the images and information you just watched. Make sure your room is dark and not too hot so that the body can fully relax.
Don't try to do all of our top ten tips at once, stick with them for several weeks and see a fresher, healthier, happier person!
